The “耆鄰舞動遍城河” project of Caritas Harold H.W. Lee Care & Attention Home was awarded the Best Home Service under the Opportunities for Elderly Project 2017/18 organised by the Social Welfare Department. The project aimed to promote life and death education at elderly residential care home.
The "Friendly Guide" project of Caritas District Elderly Centre – Yuen Long is awarded the best one-year runner up of OEP (Opportunities for the Elderly Project) of Hong Kong and the best OEP of Yuen Long District. From a macro perspective, the project aims at improving community facilities for frail elders. From a micro view, it merges social work elements, neighborhood support and OEP component to encourage the frail elders to remove their "internal" and "external" barriers, to dream their dreams, affirm self-esteem and cultivate a caring culture.
