Uniformed GroupEnglish activityThe 10 Caritas secondary schools (9 aided schools and 1 Direct Subsidy Scheme school) offer a balanced and broad curriculum through which students acquire their knowledge and skills under Catholic ideology.
 

The Printing Training Centre and the Car Repair Workshop provide apprenticeship programmes to students from the Vocational Training Council, aiming at training youngsters interested in printing and auto repair to become qualified technicians in these two fields. The Centre and the Workshop also provide relevant services to the general public.

 

The Field Studies Centre provides educational courses on natural science to students and teachers in Hong Kong. It also runs programmes for the general public to promote their awareness on environmental protection and sustainability.

 

Objectives

  • Secondary Schools - To provide youngsters aged 12 to 19 with an alternative form of secondary education to meet their individual needs while also satisfying the needs of our community
  • Apprentice Training Centres - To provide apprentice training through structured, shop-floor training and part-time day release study courses
  • Field Studies Centre - To provide students with tailored field-study programmes related to the New Senior Secondary curriculum

 

CommencementAchievements

  • Over 600 students graduated from Caritas Secondary School each year .
  • Some students from Caritas Secondary Schools obtained outstanding results when they participated in competitions such as art and design competition, essay competition and dancing competition, etc. They were also complimented for their excellent performance in voluntary services.
  • A technician apprentice of Caritas Printing Training Centre was awarded the "2002 Outstanding Trainee / Apprentice" by the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council.
  • Through the assessment by the Quality Assurance Inspection teams of the EDB, the performance of our Caritas Secondary Schools in general were shown positive. Most of the schools were assessed as value-added schools.
  • Many Caritas secondary schools were awarded the “Caring Campus Scheme” award.
  • Caritas Chong Yuet Ming Secondary School was awarded the 1st Runner-up of the "Quiz on 30th anniversary of China's Economic Reform" on 2008.
  • Caritas Ma On Shan Secondary School was awarded the Inviting School Award 2012 by the International Alliance for Invitational Education.
