April 2024 marks the 45th anniversary of Caritas Services for the Elderly. Several celebration events are scheduled to be held in 2024 and 2025.
First of all, a dinner gathering for staff members was held on 7 June 2024 with around 500 total attendance. The participants not only enjoyed a joyful evening with their teammates, but also an enhancement of team spirit as they looked back at what they had contributed to the success of the Service over the past years.
The service users lunch gathering (明愛長者暖萬心) held at the Ballroom of Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West on 17 October 2024 was another highlight of the celebrations. Around 1,000 participants, including donors, service users and volunteers attended the event to share the happiness. There were interactive games, singing and dancing performances by staff, users and celebrity, “read-through” performance, lucky draw and presentation of certificate of appreciation to long-term supporters. Thanks to the hard work of the organizing committee which consisted of members of Caritas Federation of Senior Citizens and staff members, the event received overwhelming positive feedback. Everyone was indulged in the Caritas spirit when we sang the song “明愛伴我行” together. The gathering became a precious memory to all participants, particularly who had walked through and witnessed the development and achievements of Caritas Services for the Elderly in the community.
