Recently, it has come to our notice again that there are quite a few people making $30 donations on our website, which is similar to last year’s personal data fraud using the following fraudulent message: "For donation of $30 to Caritas-Hong Kong, a cash rebate will be received."
Once again, we would like to make it clear that Caritas has not collaborated with any group or organization in fundraising events involving rebates. At the same time, the public can rest assured that all personal information provided during the donation procedures will be handled with care and strict confidentiality.
We urge citizens to remain vigilant to protect their personal information. In case of suspected fraud or having any doubts, please take appropriate actions, such as calling the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" or reporting to the police for help.
