Caritas Services for the Elderly has been advocating the culture of "Elderly Eating Well" in the industry since 2019. This year, we participated in the “Happy Eating" Senior Food Cooking Competition 2022 hosted by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) and won several awards again.  These awards not only serve as recognition to the winning chefs, but also stimulate other cooks to put more efforts in making the soft meals to serve those elders who are suffering from swallowing problems.

With her caring attitude, the award-winning chef of Caritas Integrated Home Care Service- Yuen Long, Ms. Fok Wai Fun, understands elderlies who have swallowing difficulty would take more time to eat and food tends to cold down. Elderly likes to enjoy warm food. Congratulations to her kindness and precise preparation, she won the "Care Food Star Chef" and "The Most Nutritious award”. Her winning dishes are “ Dried Tangerine Peel and Duck Leg Soup with Rice” and “The Rainbow Pie”.

With dedicated care to his family, the chef of Caritas Ying Shui Home, Mr. Law Shiu Wai, hopes that his mother with swallowing difficulty can enjoy delicious food, so he works in elderly home and starts his journal of making soft meals. He won the "Care Food Star Chef", "Gourmet Award”, and the Most Popular Dishes award voted by the public. His winning dishes were “Shredded Pigeon Meat with Lettuce” and “Lychee Souffle”.
