Caritas – Hong Kong was established in the year of 1953. Thanks to the trust and support of various stakeholders throughout 70 years, Caritas has been able to serve the community with quality people-oriented services, to help people to help themselves, and to develop itself to keep pace with the times. At present, the Agency provides diversified services, including social work, education and medical, to the public through about 270 service units and 6,300 staff in 147 locations across the territory.
As an official social service agency of the Catholic Church in Hong Kong, Caritas provides support to the Last, the Least and the Lost with the spirit of "Love in the Service of Hope". "Walking together with Love. Lighting up the future with Hope." — We will strive to help the vulnerable groups and to build a caring society in the days to come.
For the continued growth and optimisation of the Agency, it is necessary to raise funds through different types of charity events. With the permission of the Social Welfare Department, Caritas will organise a territory-wide Flag Day in the morning of 18 February 2023 (Saturday) to raise funds in providing:-
1) support services for carers of elderly in need of end-of-life care
2) support to students from low-income families affected by economic downturn
3) services for young people with special needs
